365 Project - 46th week

Lots of bird shots this week.  We had a huge dump of snow, which brought some new birds and lots of more common ones to the feeders.

I'm not that happy with the squirrel photo.  It's too dark and lightening it up a bit, made it too grainy.  Serves me right for trying to take a shot without enough light and then not setting my camera correctly.  I was distracted by his cuteness.  ;)   I probably should have gone with a different shot for the day, but it's done.   I reserve the right to replace it at a later day.  ;)

Only a few more weeks to go.

Here are the photos for the 46th week of my 365 project:

365 Project - 45th week

Since we are so close to the end of this project, I'm not going to worry any more about my self-imposed deadline of trying to get posts up on Sunday. I've accepted it's not going to happen. I'm still missing the occasional day, but I'm not going to worry about that either. It's a long project and I was bound to miss a day or two here and there.

I'm loving the textures I downloaded for use in Photoshop (See the photos on Flickr for a link to the website). I'm not sure all of them are going to be compatible with Photoshop Elements 9.0 (the version I currently have), but I'm hoping to use some of them. I'm still not quite sure how to use them effectively, but that'll come with more reading and practice.

Here are the photos for the 45th week of my 365 project.

365 Project - 44th week

I'm pretty happy that I didn't miss any days this week! Yippee! At this time of year, the sun sets so early and without natural light I'm scrambling for other light sources. It's really limiting my subject matter. I know it was like this at the beginning of the year, but I got spoiled by the longer days of summer. Oh, well. That just means I have to get creative.

As I said in my previous posts, the end of this project is near. Yippee (again)! I'm looking forward to wrapping up this project and starting something new.

365 Project - 43rd week

I can't believe how many days I missed! I wasn't thinking about this project at all, even though I wasn't really busy doing something else. It just slipped my mind.  Luckily, I have extra photos and have filled in the missing days with photos from other days.

Oh, well, now that the end is in sight, my mind is on projects for the new year. I'm not sure what I'm going to be doing yet. I'll still be working on my Sky Scarf, which isn't scheduled to end until April 30, 2013. I'm hoping to somehow use this blog for that (or those projects), but I'm not sure yet.

Anyway, here are my photos for the 43rd week of my 365 project:

365 Project - 42nd week

Argh!! I managed to get a few weeks behind again. I know posting several in a row isn't that great for anyone, so I'm going to spread them out a little. I told you I'd be taking more photos of those mushrooms from week 40 if they were still around. So far so good. I have one this week and another next week.

Now that the end of the project is near, I find myself just going through the motions to finish up. I don't spend nearly enough time on taking the photos or in post-processing. When I started this project, though, I didn't realize it was going to take so much time every day. One photo a day doesn't sound like much, but finding good subjects, taking good photos and then post-processing the photos all take time. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with this blog when the year is up. I'll have to give it some thought.

Here are my photos for the 42nd week of my 365 project:

Solarized Silicone Brush Nut Kisses Dark-eyed Junco Face Copper Top Mushrooms

The "portrait" photo was an experiment I tried after seeing it on one of the photography websites I follow.  For my first try, I think it turned out ok.  I clearly need more practice in Photoshop Elements.
