365 Project - 21st week

Here are the photos for the 21st week of my 365 project. I didn't plan to do all birds, but it turned out that way. In some ways, it was easier to do than other subjects. These guys are at our feeders all day long and all I needed was some patience. Whomever (whoever?) "posed" the longest got featured that day.   On the downside, they move around...a lot!  Oh, and the weather helped, too. I couldn't very well take a photo outside if it's pouring rain like it is right now.

I love all of these birds, but some of the photos turned out better than others. My favourites are: 1,3, 4 and 7.

365 Project - 20th week

The 20th week of my 365 project is done. I had planned on doing a "same subject" shoot all week, but got bored with it and switched to different subjects after 4 days. I actually like most of the shots I took this week, which is pretty surprising. However, I think photos 2 and 4 could have come out better.

I'm still toying with the idea of wrapping up this project early. Maybe only completing 6 months instead of the full year. I think if I make the decision ahead of time I won't feel like I failed. I'm still thinking about it, though.

Anyway, here are the photos:

Wheels and Pinions

I missed Wordless Wednesday yesterday, so I figured I'd post something today instead. Here's a photo I took a couple of days ago of some wheels and pinions from a clock:

In Photoshop Elements, I cropped it quite a bit and turned it so the wheels are going diagonally then used a monochrome edit and a slight vignette.

365 project - 19th week

Here are my photos for the 19th week of my 365 project. This week I took it day by day instead of worrying about finishing the project or giving up. I haven't been looking at other people's photos much (or taking the time to comment) and I think my photography has suffered because of it. I don't find this set of photos particularly interesting or exciting. Oh, well. My favourites are 1,2, and 3 (because he's just so darn cute).

365 project - 18th week

Here are my photos for the 18th week of my 365 project. I'm rapidly losing the desire to finish this project. It's not that I'm totally unhappy with the results I'm getting, it's just taking a lot of time each day to get a shot. It's also mentally draining to be constantly looking for something new to shoot.

It's not just that.  In order to succeed, I need to be inspired.  The most inspiring thing for me is to look at other's work as well as get feedback on my own work.  That sometimes takes more time than taking the shot itself.  I'm been neglecting that for awhile now and I really see my motiviation slipping and guilt about not doing so increasing.  I think about quitting every day.   :(

So, it wasn't a great week for photography, but I did manage to stay away from other people's edits and only use what was available on Photoshop Elements. On photo #7, I used an online texture photo for the background. Even though it wasn't my own or something that was already in PSE, I'm not counting that. ;) My favourites are 3,5, and 7.
